So, that was Christmas.
We had snow on the ground for 3 weeks and the Cotswolds never looked more gorgeous. 2010 was such a busy year and I don’t think I have ever appreciated the importance and significance of Christmas quite as much. It is the only time of year with an immovable deadline. And I, for one, am grateful for that. Things have to get done, projects must be wound up and then everything absolutely stops for several days. The peace and calm that ensues is utterly special to Christmas. And, once we ran out of oil for our boiler there was a real sense of return to basics: It’s amazing how little heating you can manage with when you’ve got some Charlotte & Co. silk wool thermals and a beautiful, highly efficient wood burner from Chesney’s.
