I’m not techy and I never really got into Facebook.  But I just LOVE twitter.

Marie Claire Magazine has asked me to be one of their mentors for the 2011 Inspire & Mentor campaign which they are running in association with The Princes Trust.

So, that was Christmas.

We had snow on the ground for 3 weeks and the Cotswolds never looked more gorgeous.  2010 was such a busy year and I don’t think I have ever appreciated the importance and significance of Christmas quite as much. 

So, the move is finally happening.

I’m going to be spending my first night in my brand new bedroom and my newly done house.

Yes, kids are off school, I have been baking birthday cakes until midnight, we are in the final, painful stages of a 2 year building project, the AW catalogue needs putting to bed and there are all the joys of moving house to look forward to next month. WHAT was I thinking when I decided that it would be a good idea for all of these things to happen simultaneously?

It’s a metaphor for life: you just never know what it’ll throw at you next.  That’s why layering is such an essential styling skill.  Fine cottons and linens form the basis of a good summer wardrobe but without some tactical and tactile layering the British summer is often too chilly to be fun.

I am fascinated by how hard it is for people who have set out in a particular direction to change course.  It takes a much greater effort of will to make changes to plans you have already laid than it did to come up with those same plans in the first place.

Oh dear, I’ve spent 3 days worrying about when I’ll see my kids again.  They are still stranded in Majorca with Chris while I’m safely back in the UK.
